  • In large-scale industrial production, it is often necessary to evaporate a large amount of water which requires a large amount of energy to heat water to produce steam. In order to reduce the consumption of heating steam, multi effect evaporator can be used.

    When the heated steam passes into an evaporator, the solution is heated and boiling, while the secondary steam pressure and temperature are lower than the original heating steam, but the secondary steam can still be used. In the multi effect evaporation, the secondary steam can be used as the heating steam and introduced into next evaporator. As long as the evaporation chamber pressure and the boiling point of the solution are lower than those of the original evaporator, the secondary steam introduced can play the role of heating source. Similarly, the new secondary steam produced by the second evaporator can also be used as the heating steam of the third evaporator. In this way, each evaporator is called a single effect, and a plurality of evaporators are connected together to form a multi effect evaporation system.

    The first heat exchanger with the primary steam is called the first effect, and the second heating exchanger with the secondary steam generated from first effect is called the second effect… and so on. The utility model has the advantages of cyclic utilization, repeated utilization of heat energy, and remarkable reduction of heat energy consumption, thus greatly reducing the cost and increasing the efficiency.

    Main features of Multi Effect Evaporator:

    • The evaporation capacity is up to 0.5t/h~100t/h;
    • Several evaporators are connected to operate, and the secondary steam produced in the former evaporator serves as the heating steam for the latter evaporator. The heat energy is repeatedly used, significantly reduce consumption of fresh steam;
    • After five effect, the heat utilization rate will reduce even adding more effect. That means, the economic effeciency will be maxium aroudn five effect.
    • Compared multi effect evaporator, MVR Evaporator or TVR evaporator will show much better performance in steam saving. If the budget allow, MVR evaporator is mostly recommended.

    • Three effect evaporator
    • Four effect evaporator
    • Five effect evaporator, etc.
